Common questions
Not sure which page fits your project?
Quick pointers on which basement page covers your project, plus the basics on pricing and permits.
What's the difference between underpinning, waterproofing and a walkout?
Underpinning lowers your basement floor for more headroom. Waterproofing stops water from getting in through the exterior wall. A walkout cuts a new below-grade entrance through the foundation. Not sure which you need? Call and describe it.
Can I combine several of these in one project?
Yes — underpinning, waterproofing and a walkout are often done together, since they all involve excavating around the foundation. Tell us the full scope and we'll plan it as one job.
Do you handle permits and engineering?
Yes, wherever the work is structural — underpinning, walkouts and foundation openings all need stamped drawings and a permit, which we arrange as part of the project.
What areas do you service?
We're based in Etobicoke and cover Toronto and the wider GTA. See our service area map on the homepage, or call and ask.
Do you also do radiant floor heating and window wells on their own?
Yes, both are common as standalone projects too — see radiant floor heating and window wells.
How do I actually get a price?
Call or send the quote form with a rough idea of the project. We book a free on-site visit, assess the foundation and grade, then give you one fixed price in writing — no ballpark guesses over the phone.
