A driveway takes more punishment than almost anything else on the property — vehicle weight, road salt, plows and every freeze-thaw cycle a GTA winter can throw at it. Most driveway failures trace back to what's underneath, not the concrete itself.

We tear out and haul away what's there now, build and compact a proper granular base, set forms to a fall that moves water away from the garage, and reinforce before we pour. Same in-house crew from the first cut to the final broom or stamp pattern.

The standard, slip-resistant texture for a driveway. Durable, low-maintenance and the most economical option.

Exposed Aggregate

The top layer is washed back to reveal the stone underneath — extra grip and a textured, upscale look.

What actually decides if it lasts

The part you never see is the part that matters

A driveway that cracks or heaves in a few winters almost always failed underneath, not on top. We excavate to proper depth, bring in clean granular base, and compact it in lifts — not just dumped and levelled — before a form ever goes in.

Forms get set to a grade that carries water away from the garage and the house, not toward it. Reinforcement — rebar or mesh, depending on the load the slab needs to carry — goes in before we pour, and control joints are planned in before the truck ever shows up.

Pour day

Screeded, floated, finished — then left alone to cure

Concrete is placed and screeded flat, floated to close the surface, and then finished to whichever texture you picked — broom, exposed aggregate or a stamped pattern. Edges and any steps or aprons get finished by hand.

Once it's finished we protect it while it cures, cut or tool control joints so any shrinkage cracking happens where it's supposed to, and seal it if the finish calls for it. Light foot traffic is fine after 24–48 hours; give it about a week before parking or driving on it.

How much does a concrete driveway cost?

Every driveway is different — size, how much old concrete or asphalt has to come out, base condition and finish all move the number. That's why we don't quote over the phone: we come look, then give you one fixed price in writing, free of charge.

How long before I can park on a new driveway?

Light foot traffic is fine after 24 to 48 hours. Give it about a week before parking or driving on it, longer in cold weather.

Do I need a permit to replace my driveway?

Usually not for a straightforward like-for-like replacement. Widening a driveway or changing the curb cut can involve the city — we'll flag it at the estimate if yours does.

Which finish wears best — broom, exposed aggregate or stamped?

Broom finish is the most economical and lowest-maintenance. Exposed aggregate adds extra grip and a textured look for a bit more. Stamped costs the most but gives you a stone or brick look — see our stamped concrete page for patterns and upkeep.

Can you widen my driveway or add a parking pad?

Yes — we can extend an existing driveway, add a second pad, or replace the apron at the city cut so it matches. We'll look at your lot and city setback rules at the estimate.

My driveway has cracks — do I need a full replacement?

Not always. Hairline cracks and minor settling can often be repaired or resurfaced. We'll give you an honest answer at the estimate rather than pushing a full tear-out you don't need.
