We lay rigid insulation to stop heat loss downward, run and pressure-test the tubing to your layout, then pour and finish the slab around it in one clean pour.

Once every loop is tested and holding pressure, we pour and screed the slab around it, keeping the tubing at the right depth so heat transfers evenly through the finished floor.

Reinforcement mesh goes in where the design calls for it, and control joints are planned around the tubing layout so cutting later never risks hitting a line.

A flat, well-finished slab matters more with radiant heat — an uneven floor means uneven heat transfer. We screed and power-trowel to a true, level surface ready for flooring.

What homeowners ask most before we quote a radiant floor.

How much does radiant floor heating cost?

It depends on the area, tubing layout and how it ties into the rest of your mechanical system. We give you a fixed price for the concrete and installation portion once we've seen the layout.

Do you supply the boiler or heat source?

No — we lay the insulation, install and pressure-test the tubing, and pour the slab. A licensed mechanical contractor supplies and connects the boiler or heat pump and manifold.

How does radiant heat compare to forced air?

Radiant floors heat objects and people directly rather than blowing warm air, which most people find more even and comfortable, especially in a basement.

Can this go under an existing basement floor?

It needs to go in before or during a new pour — retrofitting under an existing slab isn't practical. It's a natural fit if you're already pouring a new basement floor, underpinning, or finishing a garage.

How long before the heat can be turned on?

The slab needs to cure fully — typically around a month — before running heat, so the concrete doesn't crack from an early temperature swing. Your mechanical contractor will confirm timing.

Can you do this for a heated garage floor too?

Yes — it's an increasingly common request for garages. Same process: insulation, tubing, pressure test, then pour.
